HOMETOWN: Bowmanville, ON | MUSIC STYLE: Pop

For 19 years and counting, Tyler Keating has continued to set his sights for stardom. As a young boy, what seemed to be many lightyears away is now only steps within reach. No doubt, this Canadian Pop Artist from Bowmanville, Ontario, is ready to take his music to the big leagues.

Born in Nova Scotia but raised in Ontario, Tyler’s love and adoration for all genres of music is one of few things that have remained constant throughout his life. It was not until high school that Tyler began to write and perform his own material. This was preceded by many years of musical theatre performance in beloved shows such as Les Misérables, The Sound of Music and Oliver. During his spare time, Tyler self-taught himself on piano and eventually began to share his work on YouTube for
family and friends to enjoy. His videos have since been viewed more than 35,000 times; a remarkable online presence that has enabled Tyler to network and establish himself in the Canadian music community.

In the spring of 2012, Tyler caught the attention of Mitch Masters, Track Avenue’s Director of A&R, after he heard some of his demos. A strong relationship quickly formed that allowed Tyler to collaborate with producer Matt Sobhy (Prevail Music). Together, they have been busy putting the finishing touches on Tyler’s self-penned and first studio-recorded single, ‘Won’t Let You Go’, that will soon be released to radio. The bold and infectious dance-pop anthem is bound to take Canada by storm.

Last year was one of Tyler’s biggest yet. 2013 afforded him the opportunity to develop his craft and share his music with more people than ever before. This included performances at the Canadian National Exhibition, Drake Hotel, Campstock Tour, and Bowmanville Ribfest. Most notably, Tyler’s entry in the MuchMusic Covers Competition was selected from thousands of others to be aired on national television – an incredible milestone during such an early career! He was also privileged to share the stage with Canadian acts including Brendn., Lil Jaxe, and Beyond the Sun. There is no end in sight.

Tyler’s persistence, determination and work ethic continue to propel him to bigger and brighter places during what is just the beginning of a long and fruitful career. His debut studio-recorded single, Won’t Let You Go, will be released to radio in the coming months. We guarantee this won’t be the last you hear of Tyler Keating.
